On Thursday, June 19, SiM held their first performance in Madrid, Spain. The show was part of SiM’s European tour, Fests & Chaos Tour 2025, which ended on June 22 in Belgium. Celebrating a 20-year career, the metalcore band held concerts in Barcelona and Madrid, one after the other. Mon Live was the venue that bore the honor of welcoming SiM in the Spanish capital.
Early bird fans were amazed to see the band’s bus outside the entrance. Sadly, only a few got the chance to see the band members enter the venue. But all of them who made the line received a free Levi illustration thanks to one of the Attack on Titan fans present (a total must-have!).
A charismatic metalcore show
The opening band, Bolu2 Death, a metalcore Spanish band, set the mood and warmed up the crowd, which rocked their heads out. And right on schedule, vocalist MAH, guitarist SHOW-HATE, bassist SIN, and drummer GODRi made their stunning entrance. Without further ado, the first song was Get Up, Get Up. This threw the crowd into high gear.
Just after the second song, KiSS of Death, the audience got to experience MAH’s charisma. One of the fans gave a drawing of MAH as a present, which the vocalist gladly signed. This encouraged more people to ask for his signature. The bad thing was that the band skipped the next song on the setlist, TxHxC. The crowd witnessed MAH’s wild side when he started smashing the floor with a real bat as Baseball Bat began to play.

Definitely one of the highlights of the night was Blah Blah Blah. With a chorus easy to follow, fans shout out along with the band. Not satisfied with all the hype, the Japanese band asked the audience to crouch down for the ninth song Killing Me—you can imagine what happened next. SiM also paused momentarily to talk about the story behind their ten number, Red. The song, a strong stance against social divisions, showed the audience the band’s beliefs.
And of course, the main dish of the night was The Rumbling, used as the opening theme of one of the last Attack of Titan seasons. As many discovered SiM thanks to Attack on Titan, they all went nuts from excitement. The energy ramped up, and even some fans in the audience cried at the impression. Listening to such a potent, ominous opening live was on a whole new level.
f.a.i.t.h. was the eleventh and last song of the night, accompanied by a mosh pit. The crowd demanded the encore, but to no avail. The concert was tight on schedule, so the crowd was left wanting to hear Existence (the opening theme of Rage of Bahamut).
Hasta luego, SiM!
The Spanish fans truly appreciated having the opportunity to attend a SiM live concert. It’s pretty rare to have a Japanese rock band come to Spain—some European tours skip the Iberian Peninsula. Every time MAH talked in Spanish, even only saying “gracias”, generated such an endearing emotion in the audience. The band even let slide the possibility of participating on the Resurrection Fest of 2026, one of the major rock festivals in Spain.
