Kanata Lab promotes the upcoming release of the action game 34EVERLAST, featuring NieR:Automata singer Emi Evans for its theme song “3VERL4ST”.

The metalcore music producer Ogami of Kanata Lab has gone from being a musician to honing their skills over two years and earning the title of a game developer. The proof of that is the upcoming epic action game 34EVERLAST, with the recent milestones being a page on the Steam store for wishlist, along with a second official trailer. As of writing, the demo of the game is even being showcased at the convention Tokyo Game Show 2022.

To get a better idea of 34EVERLAST, have a look at the second trailer below which gives a bit more substance than the first trailer that was uploaded four months ago. Don’t forget to turn on the English subtitles too!

34EVERLAST /2nd Trailer / PC:Steam

“34EVERLAST”, with one gameplay loop completable in 10 minutes minimum and no game over, this is a fully-packed action entertainment for busy working adults. A touching love story unfolds in a multidimensional universe.

While we did see some resemblance to the critically acclaimed RPG game NieR:Automata, it caught us off guard when it was recently announced that the half-Japanese singer Emi Evans of Scarlet Moon has participated in both vocals and lyrics for 34EVERLAST’s theme song, 3VERL4ST. Her euphoric singing voice can be found across the NieR series with two recent ones being NieR Replicant and NieR:Automata.

The amazing metal instrumentals were composed by LEVEREVE who collaborated with Kanata Lab several times before in the musical field. We’re glad to see LEVEREVE’s participation as both LEVEREVE and Kanata Lab are known for producing high-paced and impactful music.

At this stage, we get to enjoy a minute of the theme song, although, if you are one of the lucky ones to attend the Tokyo Game Show 2022 convention, the song is distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.

About Emi Evans

Emi Evans is an English singer, lyricist, and voice over talent based in Tokyo. She was born in London and grew up playing cello, singing in church choirs and writing songs. At the age of 16, she was scouted by a Sony Japan producer for her emotional voice and the dream of becoming a singer was born.

She found her niche and passion within the world of videogame music starting with the “Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard Super Arrange Version” album in 2007. Her breakout in the world of videogames was with Square Enix’s award-winning soundtrack to NieR (2010) which captivated fans with her signature “Chaos Language”, taking modern-day languages and imagining how they’d sound centuries or millennia into the future.

She contributed to Square Enix’s NieR:Automata in 2017 whose soundtrack won the Soundtrack of the Year award at The Game Awards that same year. Her performance on “Song of Ancients” from the NieR series was played twice during the opening ceremonies of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (held in 2021).
