Tokyo-based One Eye Closed has pushed out its digital EP DISTANCE on July 20, a work “born not only from the loneliness during the pandemic, but also from our gratitude in working with talented friends”, as stated by vocalist REI.

The EP DISTANCE includes two new songs while adding past standouts releases. This includes the aggressive Squall which features AJ Rebollo from the American metalcore band ISSUES, a notable song also because it was mixed and mastered by Ryo from girugamesh. You can expect to see All Of Us too, the ending theme for the video game No Straight Roads, among other songs.

Simultaneously as the EP was released, the band unveiled the lyric video Never Meant To, one of the new tracks in their latest work. It shares a similar vibe to many of their softer songs that provide the listener with a pleasing and soothing listening experience.

Vocalist REI shares his thoughts on DISTANCE:

We’re so excited for you all to finally listen to our new EP DISTANCE. Although not necessarily about distance, as the title may imply, these tracks are made with the influence of being so far away from people we love and care for, including our fans. These tracks are born not only from the loneliness during the pandemic, but also from our gratitude in working with talented friends that wouldn’t be possible without the rise of remote work. We hope you enjoy this EP!
