Japanese heavy metal band DIR EN GREY revealed the tracklist for their upcoming album PHALARIS, which hits shelves on June 15. To celebrate the release of PHALARIS, DIR EN GREY also announced some exclusive online events and autograph campaigns. Read on for more details!

The tracklist revealed!

PHALARIS is DIR EN GREY’s first studio album since The Insulated World, released in 2018.

The regular edition of PHALARIS has 11 tracks, including two previously released singles Oboro and Ochita Koto no Aru Sora. Both singles have wildly different feelings and compositions, which leaves us anxious to hear the rest of the album!

The Limited versions of PHALARIS add a bonus CD with two new renditions of old tracks. The newly recorded tracks are mazohyst of decadence, originally released on the album GAUZE in 1999, and ain’t afraid to die, released as a single in 2001.

Fans were shocked to see these titles, originally released over 20 years ago! How will these tracks be reimagined with the band’s newly evolved sound?

Exclusive online events for buyers

By purchasing a copy of PHALARIS you can use the product serial code to access exclusive online events and campaigns.

The first event is for those who purchase the Limited Deluxe Version of PHALARIS. This version includes a bonus disc featuring live clips from the show Sogai (疎外), held at Tokyo Garden Theater on June 5, 2021. Those who purchase the Limited Deluxe Version can join an online viewing party of the Sogai disc. Members of DIR EN GREY plan to join the chat too! 

The viewing party is tentatively planned for Saturday, June 18 at 20:00 (JST). It will not be saved in archive mode, so be sure to set your alarms if you live abroad.

In addition to the viewing party, those who purchase the Limited Deluxe Version can also apply for an online autograph session with their preferred member or an autographed poster. (Please note, fans abroad may need to use a forwarding service to apply for the autographed goods.) The more copies of PHALARIS you buy, the more serial codes you can apply with, improving your chances to win.

Last but not least, DIR EN GREY will host a series of three online events on July 1, 2, and 3. Those who purchase any version of PHALARIS may apply to one event per serial code. Each event will feature one or two members of DIR EN GREY. The time has not been announced yet, but each event will be viewable in archive mode to watch later.

A first glimpse at the new look?

At the time of publication, the album art, and the band’s “new look” have yet to be revealed. However, on May 1, DIR EN GREY’s drummer Shinya teased a new look on Twitter, along with the caption, “I took my artist photo”. Could this be our first glimpse of the band’s new look?
