GARNiDELiA revealed a music video for the song Otome no Kokoroe, which serves as the opening theme for the anime adaptation of Taisho Otome Fairy Tale. The song will be included in their fifth studio album Duality Code coming out on November 11. In the meantime, you can listen to Otome no Kokoroe via digital platforms, and enjoy the festive music video.

Album Duality Code is the duo’s first studio album under the label Pony Canyon since they joined earlier this year. The album is available in regular, and limited editions at general stores. There is also a third edition limited to Pony Canyon’s official online store CANIME.

All three editions come with the regular CD including 12 new songs. The limited edition adds a Blu-ray disc containing the music videos for my code and Otome no Kokoroe, as well as an interview with vocalist MARiA and keyboardist Toku. Last but not least, the CANIME limited edition includes a Blu-ray disc with GARNiDELiA’s stellacage tour 2021 – 2022 “Duality Code” final performance.

The anime adaptation of Taisho Otome Fairy Tale, which is also produced by Pony Canyon, premiered on October 9 and is licensed by Funimation outside of Asia.

The story occurs in 1921, during the Taisho era, and follows teenager Tamahiko Shima from the wealthy Shima family as he struggles with his mother’s death and an accident that paralyzes his arm. Tamahiko is then rejected by his own father due to his physical disability and forced to live in isolation. Later on, a young girl named Yuzuki Tachibana is sent by the Shima family to live with Tamahiko and keep him company. The sole presence of Yuzuki helps Tamahiko to heal emotionally.

In GARNiDELiA’s music video for Otome no Kokoroe, you can see and hear elements of the Taisho era, in which this anime takes place. Both MARiA and Toku wear costumes inspired by trends of the time, such as combining western wear with kimono. The song also has a retro-modern sound, incorporating influences of big band and jazz.
