EGOIST has today pre-released its title track “BANG!!!” which serves as the opening theme song for the fantasy and card game anime “Build Divide: Code Black” (Build Divide: #000000). It’s available for digital purchase and streaming, and the music video will be available on YouTube on October 17, 20:00 (JST). The song “BANG!!!” is included in the EP of the same name, the full release will pack a total of four songs and is available on November 30.
As revealed last week, the song “BANG!!!” is composed by Giga—formerly in the unit REOL. While this is his first contribution to EGOIST, it’s also a collaborative effort between him and ryo (supercell), the former main composer of EGOIST. Besides giving Giga pointers, ryo also provided the lyrics this time around.
Here is what Giga had to say about the writing process:
This is Giga. I was in charge of composing “BANG!!!”.
When I was first asked to compose the song, I was very surprised. But when thinking about what I could do, I decided to express a strong female image that hadn’t been present in EGOIST until now.
I went through a lot of trial and error and received many pointers from ryo, so the completed song is like no other that I have written.
I think it also fits very well with the world view of anime with its flashiness and sound, so please listen to it down to every nook and cranny.
Giga is only one of the new guest composers to help out EGOIST. We’ve previously seen the Korean composer M2U provide his work for the recent singles “Saigo no Hanabira (The meaning of love)“ and “Zettai Zetsumei”. Composer ANIMAL HACK is contributing to the upcoming EP for the unreleased song “Tonight Tonight”.
EGOIST says we can expect more guests composers in the future.
Moreover, EGOIST unveiled the illustration for EP “BANG!!!”, serving as a part of the 10-year anniversary celebration.
