GACKT shares a cover on YouTube—while in cosplay—of the ending theme song Homura (炎), from the popular anime movie Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen (Demon Slayer Movie: Infinity Train). As GACKT explains at the beginning of the video, in respect to the original version, the approach he has taken is to express the song in his own way, through a one-take a capella, making this uniquely a “GACKT ver.” of Homura.
GACKT is one of many who joined in on the Kimetsu no Yaiba cover song craze, something that is prevalent on YouTube but also on other social media platforms. The song is originally by anisong singer LiSA who likewise is an extremely popular singer right now.
In the video, GACKT is dressed up as Kibutsuji Muzan (鬼舞辻 無惨), the antagonist of the series. When the cosplay was first revealed on October 30 it quickly got “GACKT” trending on Twitter, and now with the Homura cover being out, we see GACKT once again trending on Twitter but under the topic “GACKT無惨” (GACKT Muzan).
You might also notice on the Instagram comment section that we have Yoshiki (X Japan) giving his approval of the cosplay with the comment: “🔥🔥🔥!” (three fire emojis and an exclamation mark at the end).
