It’s been almost one year since JILUKA pushed out their previous release, but they’ve returned with a new mini-album Xtopia which just came out on October 14. From this, the band serves us a new music video for Edifice, the second song of this seven-track release. We’re taking a quick trip to the netherworld, so brace yourself for heavy demonic sounds, and let’s dive into what JILUKA has to offer.
Edifice, which has a dual meaning of a large imposing structure or complex system of beliefs—tying neatly with the video set within the lavish church interior. Satanic sounds of a church organ and low echoing of bells build to the already thick chaotic melody laid down by guitarist Sena and drummer Zyean.
If you enjoyed this track, it’s just a taster for the rest of the album as the band has done an amazing job of staying true to the theme so that each track leads elegantly to the next. Have a listen to the four-minute preview of all tracks to see for yourselves. Of course, the album artwork is adorned with symbols of the occult and the supernatural too. They have really outdone themselves when it comes to consistency for this release, and we can toast them for that.
Just before you leave, fans of JILUKA should come read our interview with the band! We find out why the members became musicians and the reason why they have not released new songs until now. Be sure to read it!
