Whilst many of us have had to stay indoors whilst wrestling with slow wifi and binge-eating snacks to fill the void, SCANDAL has been tirelessly crafting a new track titled Living in the city that will be out digitally on June 3. Inspired by the metropolitan life, TOMOMI originally composed this song during band sessions for Kiss from the darkness. It’s a thoughtfully timed and creative response to the new indoor life many are now experiencing.
Would working on music sans the usual recording studio setup change anything in the sound? Let’s take a moment to savor the latest teaser of a treat SCANDAL has put before us and find out.
Notes of sunny radiance beam from the track and bring on memories of summer vacations at home, perhaps bought on by the cozy and intimate home-recording setting. It’s a fun song, but coming back to the question of whether if home-recording will affect the record itself, we have noticed minor nuances compared to their previous releases. Most notably, they’re far more heavy-handed on the bass than usual, but we love how TOMOMI’s vocals sound so sweet and adorable here. We’re sure many SCANDAL fans are happy to see the band are still doing their best to write music, but what are your thoughts on home-recorded tracks?
