Vocalist Leo Ieiri will drop her first-ever EP titled ANSWER on May 13, featuring seven songs. The title-track ANSWER is set to open for the second season of the baseball anime series, MAJOR 2nd, which is where you will hear it for the first time in its 90-second “TV” version. You can catch the show starting on April 4, just a few days from now.
Aside from the song ANSWER, the EP contains a collection of covers from well-known Japanese acts spanning from 1970 to the 2000s. This includes Elephant Kashimashi, Itsuro Shimoda, Ken Hirai, Momoe Yamaguchi, and the fictional group Yen Town Band. The limited edition of the EP also comes with a special 32-page booklet and a DVD with the music video for the title-track and its making-of.

MAJOR 2nd is the sequel of the baseball-themed anime series MAJOR, which follows Daigo Shigeno’s dream of becoming a professional baseball player, just like his father. Daigo is the son of Goro Shigeno, who was the main protagonist in the first installment of the series that ran from 2004 to 2010.
In addition to the EP news, Leo Ieiri recently uploaded full versions of 13 music videos on her YouTube channel. Following this event, it was also announced that her latest releases are now available on streaming platforms! This includes the 15th single Kono Sekai de, the 6th album DUO, and the 16th single Mikansei, making her entire discography of 103 songs accessible free of charge. Update 2020-04-15: The release date of the EP has been postponed from April 22 to May 13 due to the influence of coronavirus. However, the title-track ANSWER will be released digitally on April 22 as a single.
