Hyper Japan is just around the corner on July 12–14 this year at Olympia London. If you’re in the area, interested in Japanese culture and have not visited Hyper Japan yet, we highly recommend you pay a visit! So, apart from delicious food stalls, fashion catwalks, and tonnes of stands with figurines, ceramics, and snacks, who will be keeping you entertained on stage? Take a look at our top three recommendations this year.
Miura Ayme
Performing: Saturday, Sunday
Visual kei artist Miura Ayme (ex-Ecthelion) is a solo artist, professional actor and cosplayer who will be performing music from his solo project on the second half of Saturday and Sunday session. He’s high energy and has his aesthetics down to a T!
NECRONOMIDOL
Performing: Friday, Sunday
Five-piece dark Japanese idol heavy metal girl band from Tokyo, Japan, NECRONOMIDOL has toured around Europe pretty regularly, but this will be their first appearance at a festival in UK. Mixing their occult and paranormal image with black metal sounds laced with horror movies vibes, you’re in for an early spooky Halloween treat for the eyes and ears this Friday and Sunday.
IJEN KAI
Performing: Friday, Saturday
It’s the first time we’ve heard of this mysterious three-piece band named IJEN KAI. Donning Gundam-esque masks with an impressive elaborate full-body outfit, these alien-like members will be delivering a blood pumping show if they’re as energetic as they are at their Tokyo show earlier this year. IJEN KAI will be performing on the Friday and second session of Saturday.
