BUCK-TICK provides theme song “RANDO” for beloved anime “Gegege no Kitaro”

BUCK-TICK will be releasing their new song RANDO through the airing of Fuji TV’s anime series Gegege no Kitaro. The song will be available from April 7 and presented as the ending theme song for the new season of Gegege no Kitaro.

Fuji TV celebrated Gegege no Kitaro’s 50th anniversary since its first launched episode with the arrival of the sixth series release in 2018. The series will continue into its second year with the airing of the new season “The Four Generals of Hell” (Jigoku no Yonshou Hen), scheduled to air in Japan on April 7. For the new series, BUCK-TICK will be delivering newly written material as the ending theme song which will be their latest music release since the release of their album No.0 last year. No single release information has been announced of yet.

Fans received hints that BUCK-TICK had been writing and recording new material with glimpses of recording studio photographs posted on Imai Hisashi’s Instagram—BUCK-TICK’s guitarist, and main lyric and songwriter. We now know they were indeed preparing for a new music release, but this leaves us to wonder: are there more music release plans?

BUCK-TICK also have another upcoming release with the live DVD of their Tour No.o set to release on April 24. The live DVD was recorded at their tour final performance at Tokyo International Forum Hall on July 26, 2018, which consists of a 21-song setlist that focuses mainly on the tour’s corresponding album but also includes some BUCK-TICK classics along with some unexpected additions. The live release will be available in regular and limited edition, both available in DVD and Blu-ray. The limited edition is a little extra special as it also includes a bonus disc with the live recording of BUCK-TICK’s live house “TOUR No.0 – Guernican Moon –” performance at Toyosu PIT, Tokyo, on November 10, 2018, along with a 64-page photobook.
