Redoubtable mop-topped alt-rockers KANA-BOON issued a five-song EP, Aster, on May 30 with the upbeat and energetic, albeit meanderingly named, leadoff track, Wandering Days and Fanfare, previously out as an accompanying video (but only viewable in Japan at the moment). In it, the guys play facing backward in a theater (‘cus, why not?) interwoven with a cute boy tries to meet girl storyline.

The band performs amongst the theater seats.

The EP is available as a regular CD or as a limited edition with a bonus DVD of live footage from their five-day string of March shows at the Mikunigaoka FUZZ. The song titles alone conjure up images of warm, fun-filled summer afternoons with nights spent holding hands under the stars. Should be stellar.

2018 has been a busy year for the band so far, as Aster follows-up on the March issuance of their compilation of B-sides, KBB vol. 1, and a variety of live performances. KANA-BOON will be playing several festivals this summer including the LOVE MUSIC FESTIVAL on June 1 and the ROCK IN JAPAN FES on August 11.
