We were able to speak with the multitalented Sebastiano Serafini from Italy recently, also known as “Seba”, and took the chance to find out how it is being an artist in so many fields.

Can you please introduce yourself to our readers who may not know about you?
I’m a musician and model living between Tokyo, Milan and Los Angeles. Making music is what makes me happy, I also have a cat.

You are active as a model and musician among others, how did this happen?
As for being a model, I was lucky to be scouted back when I was very young. As for being a musician, I always wanted to be one and I have always loved singing. I think making music is just a way for me to express how I feel, which is one of the many things I like about it.

How would you describe the music you make and what message are you striving to pass on to your listeners?
The music I make reflects my own feelings, I want to tell to those who listen to my music to embrace who you are, be yourself, and fight for what you love.

We have noticed that you have been very active on YouTube recently, not only that, you are receiving a lot of positive feedback as well! What made you decide on YouTube?
In recent years, YouTube has become the easiest and most efficient way to share music with the world. It also gives me the opportunity to not only reach my audience auditorily but also optically.

Do you think that it has become easier to share music today because of social networks? What is your experience with it?
I totally think that is correct. Generally, social networks make collaboration with other creators a lot easier. In my recent videos, I have in fact included YouTubers such as Joey aka The Anime Man, Akidearest, Sharla in Japan, Rachel and Jun, and more.

You are active in so many different creative fields, but being a model and a musician seems to be the environments you like the most?
Yes, that is right! Although some people may disagree with me, I think fashion and music—with the right mindset—are both two great forms of art that give me the freedom to express myself. The main difference is that when it comes to my personal music and music videos, is that I have total control in creating whatever comes to mind. With modeling however, most of the time the designer has his own vision that he or she seeks of me.

What is the most important thing for you being an artist?
Being honest and most importantly, being yourself. I think having a genuine heart and motivation is the key to reaching people. Also, you should never give up!

There are a few new songs that you have recently put out. Could you tell us what got you inspired to create these new pieces?
The inspiration for my latest album AEON came from my previous experience with bands. When I was touring and performing as a keyboardist, I always felt like I wanted to be closer to my audience to tell them how I felt. I took action and decide to be a solo artist as a singer, thus I started composing my own songs. These songs are all about “fight for what you love, despite what others might say”. You are in charge of your own life, you deserve to be who you want to be if you work hard. I hope my songs are able to motivate people to do the same!

In regards to your musical career, do you have any plans you would be interested in sharing with us? What are your goals for the future?
For this year I would like to release a new music video every month, just as I did in the past four recent months with Trust the light, Tornado, Don’t say, and Your Knight.

Right now I’m traveling all around Europe to get inspired, attend meetings, and of course recording! There are many people here who want to collaborate with me, for this, I feel so blessed! By the end of the year, I would like to release another full album. I’m also currently writing a short movie that will hopefully go into production in the future, fingers crossed

Lastly, do you have any message for the readers of JROCK NEWS?
Thank you for reading this interview, it really means a lot to be and I hope you will enjoy my new songs.
