THE TOMBOYS will be playing in London for the Pre-HYPER JAPAN party on November 22Â at the Comedy Pub in London. Doors open at 7 and ends at 11, you can find out more information on the Facebook event.
For those new to this punk-pop girl-band, THE TOMBOYS started life in 2011 as a cover band of SCANDAL, one of Japanâs most successful all-girl pop rock artists. Initially they were called NoName when they first took part in SCANDALâs annual cover band competition and got to the finals. At the competition, their drummer picked up the RINA Award from SCANDALâs drummer.
Since then, NoName started recording their own original songs and touring Japan with their cute and fun response to punk and rock music. The band then changed their name to “THE TOMBOYS”, and their first EP was produced by Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) under their new moniker.
