On July 22, following Matenrou Opera’s one-man live, Hishou (飛翔), the band announced a best album and a mini-album to be simultaneously released on October 19. Previously we talked about PHOENIX RISING, now we’re going to go over the details of their two-edition best album, BEST & REQUEST and BEST & CLIPS.
For the two-disk, regular edition, Matenrou Opera fans had a dream opportunity to request songs to compose the second disk of BEST & REQUEST through an international voting system. On August 16 a special website dedicated to the task was opened, and voters had the band’s entire discography to pick from. The most popular votes went to songs that date back to their days as an indie band, while the first disk features all of their singles since the start of their major career.
The limited edition, BEST & CLIPS, is also a two disk set with their first one being identical to the regular edition. The second disk is all visuals, showcasing most of their stunning music videos in high definition on a 13-track BD. The band released a small preview that’s sure to stir some good memories, check it out below!
