amazarashi Unveils “Tasuuketsu” Music Video, From Latest Album “Sekai shusoku 2116”

The first and only new material from amazarashi’s upcoming album “Sekai shusoku 2116” is now unveiled, exposing the music video Tasuuketsu.

Just as we previously reported, this will be amazarashi’s most depressing album yet, and Tasuuketsu supports the role of leading us into the deep abyss of vocalist Hiromu Akita’s mind. Tasuuketsu is a song that questions the ambiguous morality of humankind, criticizing the state of the world today.

We’re going to once again share the message Hiromu Akita left during the announcement of the album, to give you a better understanding:

I am disappointed in this world, but I guess that’s just the flip-side of expecting too much from it. As we march steadily toward the end, don’t you think that a smile is a futile gesture? What of life, and of singing? Sekai shusoku 2116 is our gloomiest album yet. But again, that’s what happens from expecting too much in life. Smile despite this meaningless existence. Sing even at the moment of parting.

Moving on to the visual content of the video, to a surprise you’ll find the band members of amazarashi make their first appearances (excluding live footage), along with two other familiar characters.

Additionally, some of you may be familiar with the filming location if you followed the work of bands such as ScreW, A (Ace), NOISEMAKER and a few more. ScreW filmed their music video Cursed Hurricane here, A (Ace) as well, with their music video Night Of The Knight, and NOISEMAKER with their THE NEW ERA. The location is called “Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel” and was built to prevent overflooding the Tokyo area during rainy seasons and typhoons.

The same set where other Japanese artists recorded their music videos. Such as ScreW, A (Ace), NOISEMAKER and more.

Sekai shusoku 2116 is due to release on February 24. Tasuuketsu is however currently available in a digital single version on iTunes.
