amazarashi is compiling some of their greatest work along other new songs to their upcoming third album “Sekai shusoku 2116” (世界収束二一一六). From anisongs such as Speed and Friction, featured as the opening theme song in Game of Laplace, and also the popular song Seasons die one after another, used as the ending theme song in Tokyo Goul √A which reached over 12 million views on YouTube! More details on the tracklist will be revealed as we’re closing in, but we do know there will be an inclusion of a live DVD and some literature by vocalist Hiromu Akita himself in the limited editions.
Hiromu Akita took some time to comment on the album, from this we are sure to expect a “gloomy” and pessimistic album.
Our translation and interpretation of Hiromu Akita’s comment regarding the new album:
I am disappointed in this world, but I guess that’s just the flip-side of expecting too much from it. As we march steadily toward the end, don’t you think that a smile is a futile gesture? What of life, and of singing? Sekai shusoku 2116 is our gloomiest album yet. But again, that’s what happens from expecting too much in life. Smile despite this meaningless existence. Sing even at the moment of parting.
Alongside the new album announcement, the band also revealed their fifth-anniversary tour 2016, read more about it on their live page.
The third album of amazarashi Sekai shusoku 2116 is expected to be released next year, on February 24.
