There is a special sound V.I.P is able to offer that sets off those blissful emotions. Created by dramatic beats, classy pianos and of course passionate vocals. We at JROCK NEWS had the opportunity to attend the concert in Stockholm, Sweden and also spent some time talking to V.I.P, or also known as Hiroaki Nakashima in his duo band project I-ia-.

Tuben, the venue which the concert took place in was on the smaller side, but none the less cozy and intimate. In fact, it was quite fitting for such music V.I.P produces.

The evening of October 16 started off quite humorous when V.I.P entered the stage while the intro track was playing in the background, taking position, ready to take a selfie with the audience. Quick to respond was the crowd who joyfully posed for the camera.

Once the intro was over, the mood abruptly changed when the song Miracle Carnival commenced the concert, an exotic-sounding song that infectiously got the crowd jumping up and down! Without any kind of segue, the speedy and catchy rock song Brand New World took over the venue and elevated the intensity of the concert in an instance. But it didn’t take long until those vibes faded away as the night continued toward V.I.P’s signature sound, a passionate and euphoric sound which is pieced together by elements of rock, electronics and ballad. Some perfect examples includes BABYLON, Lolotte -La Dolce Vita-, and Perfect Love ~mon Amour~. These songs were no doubt even more captivating when seeing them performed live, along with V.I.P’s emotional body gestures.

As the night went on and the concert reached its end, we were surprised to see another artist join the stage alongside V.I.P! It was no other than the Swedish artist Endigo, who is featured in V.I.P’s song BOYS, and as you probably guessed, this was the song they decided to close out the concert with, a heavy and fast-paced song that left an imprint of this euphoric night!

After a great concert, we took some time to speak with V.I.P and found out that this was actually the very first time he and Endigo performed live on stage together. Luckily, all went well.

How was the concert today?
Well… It was just as usual. [laughter]

What about the audience?
They were a bit shy, but still, they were cute.

You collaborated with the Swedish artist Endigo, how did that happen and what did you think about it?
Endigo is a great vocalist and has a great character, he’s also a friend of mine. The recording session with him went smoothly. Other than that, today’s soundcheck was actually our first time singing BOYS together. I’d say we’re rather compatible with each other.

Any future plans you want to share?
This tour hasn’t come to its end yet, so I still have a few more performances, with the tour final taking place in Ireland! I also have more shows lined up for next year, but for now, we’re shooting a music video in Sweden, with the help of Endigo. It will be out in December, so look out for that!

Do you have any final words for the fans overseas?
As long as there is at least one fan that wants me to perform in that country, I will do my best to make that happen!

JROCK NEWS thank Nyanko Scandal Factory for this great opportunity.
