On September 7 the visual kei band VALHALLA delivered a digital release of their first album, DOMINION. As a recent band debuting at the tail end of 2025, their album DOMINION gives listeners around the world 15 tracks to experience the dream-like world VALHALLA has created.

Totaling 15 tracks, DOMINION introduces you to VALHALLA with a variety of different styles. DOMINION features all tracks from the band’s two EPs, RISE and GENESIS, with an additional five tracks. One thing consistent across all tracks is their large, immersive, and energetic sound; whether a track is heavy, fun, or emotional, these traits are met consistently. VALHALLA’s goal is to create meaningful guitar-driven music, and this criteria is certainly met during every moment of the album.

Serving as VALHALLA’s first music video, synchro bombards you with such a powerful, overwhelming energy. This work showcases with defiance the guitar-driven sound VALHALLA is aiming for. Each member holds nothing back, unleashing all that they have to give at all moments. It is an intense rock track with occasional small Jpop florishes. KOU’s vocals soar through the track with excitement, especially in the huge choruses. Combined with MIO and RAY’s venturous guitar duality, synchro is a perfect introduction to VALHALLA.

The track Sunadokei (砂時計) showcases a sentimental side to VALHALLA, albeit with a side of that overwhelming energy heard in synchro. That being said, VALHALLA is more than capable of stunning you with heavy emotion, and Sunadokei is a strong example of that. KOU’s voice on slower tracks is hauntingly beautiful, delivering every lyric with the perfect balance of power and emotion, and this is further aided by the instrumental meticulously crafted to highlight such detail. Guitarists MIO and RAY also match vocalist KOU’s passion with a melodic dual guitar solo to close out the track. These slower songs don’t come in abundance in DOMINION, but when they do, they hit heavily. The skills within VALHALLA lend themselves so well to softer music that even in the more chaotic tracks on the album, brief heartfelt interludes are added.

Showcasing VALHALLA’s heavy side, RUMBLE offers ample amounts of intense guitar riffs. While most tracks of DOMINION serve as party anthems to dance along too, RUMBLE‘s hard rock sound encourages headbanging. Despite the hard rock sound, KOU continues to offer explosive, catchy vocals during choruses. Outside of choruses, however, RUMBLE showcases just how wide KOU’s vocal ability truly is, with numerous surprises throughout. As with all tracks on the album, RUMBLE continues to enforce perfect guitar duality between MIO and RAY.

About VALHALLA

VALHALLA is comprised of three members holding prominent experience in the entertainment industry. Guitarist MIO is chairman of the VALHALLA host club under YGGDRASILL group. Both vocalist KOU and guitarist RAY have a multitude of experience within visual kei.

KOU, who serves as a host of the VALHALLA club, was also the vocalist of CLOUD. RAY’s visual kei experience extends to multiple bands, notably including the now disbanded LIBRAVEL (リブラヴェル) and AVANCHICK (アヴァンチック).

Using a guitar-driven sound, VALHALLA is aiming to realize their dream with music packed full of meaning. On top of copious amounts of live performances across Japan, VALHALLA have also shared their music through the medium of anime with Azu Ayakashi (あづあやかし), featuring the tracks Hanafuda (破名札) and PROMISE. The band is currently releasing 12 music videos in 12 consecutive months, the latest being TENKA JOTO (天下上等), which serves as the sixth installment.
