Japanese-style rock band D=OUT is back with two new singles, Ten (天) and Dorobou Neko (泥棒猫). Both are released simultaneously on February 14, 2023. Music videos for both were unveiled on February 11, featuring two brand-new looks.
These two singles share traits characteristic of D=OUT, yet have completely different atmospheres. While Ten is an accelerated ode to rock and roll, full of shredding guitars and a soaring chorus, Dorobou Neko is a bittersweet romance. Melodic as it is melancholy, the track pays tribute to traditional Japanese instruments and aesthetics.
Both singles come in a regular edition and a limited edition. The first single, Ten includes coupling tracks SLDK and Versus (バーサス). The limited edition includes tracks Ten and SLDK, plus a DVD with the music video for Ten with behind-the-scenes footage.
The second single, Dorobou Neko includes coupling tracks Haikei, ano hi no boku (拝啓、あの日の僕), and Imitation Mirage (イミテーション・ミラージュ). The limited edition includes tracks Dorobou Neko and Imitation Mirage, plus a DVD with the music video and making of Dorobou Neko.
The background of the Dorobou Neko music video may look familiar to some viewers; particularly, those who have visited the Ramen Museum in Yokohama, Japan.
