Dios is a relatively new three-man band with its formation taking place in 2021, but despite that, we keep seeing hit song after hit song! Now with the eight single Danmen (断面, Integral), we’re simply mesmerized by the beautiful and gentle melodies. The single just hit digital stores on May 25 and will be included in the band’s album Castle on June 29.
As Dios is composed of three highly skilled musicians, we did go in with some expectations, but Danmen completely exceeded them! The members who are responsible for that are vocalist Tanaka, formerly known as Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi; guitarist Ichika Nito, a YouTube sensation with 2 million subscribers; and keyboardist Sasanomaly (also known as Vocaloid producer nekobolo) who recently wrote the opening theme song for the anime Vanitas no Karte.
It only takes a moment before the chorus enters, and that’s when the overwhelming feelings burst in consequence of the emotional and delicate vocals. Check it out for yourself!
Sharing a message about how we as people are able to love one another, the single is in a sense ironically being embraced as the theme song for the dark psychological thriller “Kyouso no Musume”. The contrasting mood actually fits in quite well and we’re able to see that put into action via the trailer.
In regards to the upcoming album Castle, this work will include 13 songs in total and similarly to the Danmen single, it features artwork by the artist Yousuke Yamaguchi. It will be the band’s first album and is released under the label Dawn Dawn Dawn Records.
In case you’ve missed the exceptional fifth single Darkroom—also found in the upcoming album—give the music video a look too. It’s incredibly well-animated and adds so much to the melancholic song.
