Today, Aimer cracked open a new emotional rock song ONE AND LAST, taken out of the upcoming album Hoshi no kieta yoru ni (星の消えた夜に). An album compiling a bunch of Aimer’s B-side tracks, scheduled for January 26, 2022!

The digital single ONE AND LAST sits as the theme song for the theatrical version of Anata no Ban Desu (Your Turn to Kill), a thriller and mystery film based on its TV series counterpart. Both the film itself and the song were released on the same day and notably, both works feature the former idol in Nogizaka46, Nishino Nanase.

While Nanase takes on a support role in Anata no Ban Desu, she is the main star in Aimer’s music video. In it, we can marvel at Nanase’s expressive performance as she’s cornered by a disturbance, causing the world to crack and shatter.

Actor Nishino Nanase is featured in both Aimer’s music video “ONE AND LAST” and the film “Anata no Ban Desu” (Your Turn to Kill).

Aimer also continues to connect her work to previous releases through clever means. She specifically titled the song ONE AND LAST, which is an anagram of her previous single, STAND-ALONE. This is clearly highlighted and hinted at in the music video when the wooden blocks get shuffled around.

“ONE AND LAST” shuffled around…
…becomes “STAND ALONE”.

When compared with the STAND-ALONE music video, you’ll notice how it seemingly serves as a prequel to ONE AND LAST—however, that is only our interpretation. Both songs keep a steady pace with an empowering rock tune and are even the exact same length.
