DIR EN GREY grabs our attention once again as we get closer to the release date of single Oboro on April 28. This time around, the quintet shocked fans with a disturbing promotional look for its 32nd single.

The tranquility brought by the calming cover art designed by artist Maki Hino is completely massacred by the band’s impactful artist photo. Here we see vocalist Kyo emerging from a humanoid being as if it was a birth, while the rest of the band stands around him with calm facial expressions. We can also see that the members appear to be covered in what seems to be amniotic fluid, following suit with the birthing theme. This is more noticeable on guitarist Kaoru and drummer Shinya on a closer look provided in the individual profile pictures.

Furthermore, the band announces their first performance in front of a live audience at Tokyo Garden Theater on May 6. This will be the band’s first concert in a year and three months.
