Singer-songwriter 4s4ki (Asaki), has dropped her latest music video “35.5” that brings a poppy hard dance sound. The track is extracted from the upcoming album Hyper Angry Cat (超怒猫仔) which is scheduled to be released next month, on December 16.
Directed by Yusuke Oikawa, the music video 35.5 puts an interesting retro vaporwave aesthetic on-screen—showcasing classic cultural pieces like Pokémon, The King of Fighters 2001, and Kamen Rider—in a vibrant neon environment.
Described as “a new generation of artists who can write, compose and arrange music by themselves”, the music itself is of course created by 4s4ki, but this time around she was supported by sound producer Masayoshi Iimori, who is well known for the bass-heavy type of sound that is partially offered in 35.5. You might even recognize his name being credited as the composer for Reol‘s song Insider.
Hyper Angry Cat is 4s4ki’s first album and will be available on December 16 nationwide at Tower Records, and worldwide through digital distribution. Along with 35.5, the album also comes with older digital singles like Kakeru mono (欠けるもの), escape from, Last Scene (ラストシーン), Lavender (ラベンダー), and kg.
