The all-female trio the peggies just released their 6th single Centimeter on August 26, alongside a colorful music video to fit the bright melody. The title-track served as the opening theme for the ongoing anime adaptation of Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu).
Opposite to the upbeat Centimeter, we find the mellow b-side Hanabi (花火) which just received its own music video. The lyrics depict heartbreak and reminiscence on better days spent with a loved one.
Pick up both tracks as well as a live version of the band’s fourth single Kimi no Sei on either physical or digital edition. Additionally, there’s a limited anime edition featuring an original illustration by mangaka Reiji Miyajima, writer and illustrator of the Rent-A-Girlfriend manga. This special edition adds a DVD containing the anime opening with its credits removed, all encapsulated in a tall size digipak.
Rent-A-Girlfriend follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a 20-year old college student who after being dumped by his girlfriend, decides to make use of an online service in order to fill the void with a rental girlfriend. Enter Chizuru Mizuhara, a perfect looking girl with a warm personality, who upon revealing her true self turns out to be the complete opposite of Kazuya’s first impression. You can catch up on the anime via Crunchyroll.
