Osaka-based band cocoro auction is releasing its mini-album Memorandum on September 9, allowing us to reminiscence back to those precious days, a reminder of “the feelings of that time” (Ano toki no kimochi).
The fifth mini-album from cocoro auction is appropriately titled Memorandum, meaning to document past events in order to be able to recollect these experiences in the future. It’s an album that oozes nostalgic feelings and returns us to those days when life was simpler.
The band believes “the feelings of that time” have the power to save and guide us as we move forward. In a sense, interconnecting the past with the future. All of this is reflected in the album in which songs are created based on the hidden brilliance of everyday life with a unique worldview, regardless of age, gender, or status.
Out of the five songs included in Memorandum, you will also find the track Milk Tea, which was previously released as a stand-alone single in November 2019.
Musically and lyrically, the song is a perfect match for the album despite being a re-release. It tells the story of one who is reminiscing of their bright school crush days but is currently living in regrets, leaving a sweet and bitter taste—just like the milk tea they both used to enjoy together.
