TK from Ling tosite sigure unveiled all details on his long-awaited album, Sainou, coming out on April 15. The most surprising information is the notable participation of manga artist Sui Ishida, famous for his fantastic art for the Tokyo Ghoul manga. For his fourth album, TK is illustrated in the Tokyo Ghoul creator’s signature style. This isn’t uncharted territory for Sui Ishida since he’s previously illustrated cover art for MIYAVI. However, he’s taken his involvement a step further and penned some of the lyrics for the first track of the album, Sainou -Sui Side-.
Moreover, TK has had involvement with the Tokyo Ghoul franchise in the past. His hit single Unravel was featured as the main theme for the first season of the anime, and katharsis was used on the second installment of Tokyo Ghoul:re. Fast forward to now, and it’s Sui Ishida lending his skills to TK’s work!
Multitalented Miku Nakamura of Cö shu Nie and Kitani Tatsuya also lend their talents to Sainou -Sui Side- on the piano and bass respectively. These guests are just two of the many that are featured on the album, which includes vocalist suis of rock duo Yorushika, Naoki Matayoshi, and more!
The album itself includes rearrangements of TK’s latest singles, including digital single melt, and P.S. RED I, the theme song for the Japanese release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The limited edition of the album includes a second CD containing the audio taken from TK’s acoustic live show Bi-Phase Brain “R side” which was held at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo in December 2019. The bonus CD will not be available on digital platforms, so please look forward to this version of TK’s first album in about three years.
