The legendary Kiyoharu, known for his work in the bands Kuroyume and Sads, continues his soloist path with the 10th studio album JAPANESE MENU / DISTORTION 10. Three songs taken off the album, Survive of Vision, Outsider, and Greige are currently available on streaming platforms such as Spotify, while the full project will hit the stores on March 25.
Kiyoharu has recently uploaded a music video for Greige, the second single off the album. The song is composed of a minimal percussion base and mainly features an acoustic guitar while an electric guitar builds the melody. This results in a very suitable instrumental for Kiyoharu’s raspy and expressive voice.
The music video, taken in a dark grey studio background, shows Kiyoharu in a beige suit facing the camera while singing and playing his acoustic guitar. Other shots just show the singer either smoking or holding his dog. Enjoy the face-to-face video with the outstanding musician:
The album is available for pre-order in regular, and limited editions. The former comes with 10 tracks, while the latter adds the bonus track Boukyoku no Sora (25th-anniversary ver.), and a DVD with the music videos for Greige, and SURVIVE OF VISION.
Boukyoku no Sora is a single released in 2000 by the band SADS, and reworked by Kiyoharu himself on his 2019 album Covers. It is worth mentioning that Kiyoharu’s re-recording of Boukyoku no Sora has only appeared as a music video in the bonus DVD of said album.
