Leetspeak monsters will take their brand of spooky rap-rock to the next level when they release their second album Monster’s Theater II on October 9.
In order to welcome it into the world, the band has revealed the music video for Gothic taking its members to a grandiose mansion, doubling up as what seems to be a national history museum.
Here we see the band members standing completely still in display cases as a security guard does the rounds and flashes his flashlight at them, this is amongst the other taxidermy animals that inhabit the space. Little does the security guard know, this is them finding the opportune moment to leave said boxes and give him troubleâprobably more than he usually gets.
Walking about still, the members creep around corners and hide behind stands in the cover of darkness before getting found and making a dash for it. They also take their time to explore the wonders the museum has on offer as vocalist D13 leads the group with a lantern in hand and after a while, they start playing tricks on the security guard.
It’s not long after that the security guard looks towards the full moon, takes off his shirt to reveal anotherâone more suited for the nightâand starts breakdancing with the band.
As with every other Leetspeak monsters music video, I love the location of where Gothic is being filmed. They always try to find a variation of the same kind of place but find creative and new ways to use that space through a story. The shot of the band members running away from the security guard is brilliant with its slapstick approach, creeping about the museum by lantern, and them in the display boxes, moving after the coast is clear is cool in the way it’s shot.
Gothic as a song alone has a more doom and gloom feel but still manages to inject the same kind of excitement their party songs convey so this is another one to check out for sure!
