On March 7, Kiryu’s 18th maxi single, Harushigure (春時雨), meaning spring rain, has been released and the official music video has already been uploaded as well. The single comes in four editions and whereas type A and B are limited ones which contain two tracks, music video and Making of and a multi-angle-version of the video respectively, regular editions C and D each feature three tracks plus instrumental versions of the songs.
Combining the melodies of guitar and koto (japanese harp) at beginning and end, the video shows the members in the midst of an ancient village, wearing outstanding, samurai-inspired outfits. Another stark contrast is created by bright, purple cherry blossom trees shown frequently throughout the video. We can also see swordsmen fighting between the members who finally wield the weapons themselves. Moreover, Mahiro’s passionate way of singing adds up to the fast-paced, catchy sound of the song, carrying a freshness fitting the start of spring.
