Reol has found her way back into the spotlight and is storming the stage with a new song called Heimenkyo (平面鏡)! The best part is, you can digitally and metaphorically pick up Heimenkyo today! But it doesn’t stop there, the good news keeps pouring in as it is also revealed that Heimenkyo is only one of the songs you will find in Reol’s upcoming mini-album, Kyokou shuu (虚構集), to be released on March 14. You will find this track along four other new tracks in Reol’s upcoming album, with a bonus 40-page conceptual book in the limited edition.
Heimenkyo has a very similar sound to REOL’s last release, Endless EP, back when Reol was a part of the trio group named “REOL”. It does however have some minor deviation from her past sounds, but if you had a listen already and liked what you’ve heard, then we’re sure the rest of the mini-album won’t disappoint. The reason being, Reol used the same mindset of Heimenkyo to produce the rest of the upcoming mini-album.
Reol explains the story behind Heimenkyo (Plane mirror) is to break free from the persona she has built up over all these years, to break free from the “fake image” of her and reveal the “real” Reol for everyone to witness.
While the three-man unit REOL dissolved last year “for the sake of development”, you might or might not be surprised to see the former member Giga taking part to help with the arrangement. The music is still however composed by Reol herself, making this a project where Reol more or less takes full control of the musical direction, but of course with influences of her partner in crime, Giga. It’s worth mentioning that Giga has been helping Reol produce even her older solo albums in the past.
JROCK NEWS conducted an amusing and interesting interview with REOL before they parted ways, you can check it out here!
Update 2018-02-08: The article has been altered according to the newly revealed information on the album Kyokou shuu.
