Lovers of Vocaloid and visual kei alike, rejoice! KAMIJO (Versailles Philharmonic Quintet) and Mana (Moi dix Mois) are both collaborating with the Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku for a two-week-long event Hatsune Miku Vampire Festival (初音ミク ヴァンパイア・フェス) held at Shibuya Marui from January 16–30. The festival will feature special events with artists and Vocaloids and sales of exclusive merchandise. Not only that, KAMIJO has decided to release a musical collaboration single, titled Sang -Another Story-, on March 21.

In December 2017, KAMIJO shared a video teaser for this new collaboration project on his Twitter. The visuals for the collaboration have been drawn by PEACH-PIT, the artist behind the famous gothic lolita themed manga Rozen Maiden. It depicts Miku lying in a coffin amongst thorns and roses, wearing a black gothic lolita dress, all accompanied by dramatic, very Kamijo-esque symphonic instrumental music.

You can check out the thrilling video preview down below.

On this occasion, KAMIJO will release a musical collaboration single, featuring the beloved blue/green-haired Vocaloid character; it will be released under the title Sang -Another Story-, to come out on March 21, the same day as his planned new album Sang. The single will come in two editions, the special limited edition sporting a special 3D booklet and a randomly selected SONOCA card as a limited bonus.

KAMIJO will also participate in two events at the festival. The first is a special talk event with Machigerita (a producer/utaite famous for making Vocaloid songs); it will be held on January 21 and is limited to a hundred people. Those willing to participate are able to acquire numbered tickets at the sales register of the Vampire Festival. The second one is a signing session on January 30, for which the numbered tickets will be distributed to the people who purchase either KAMIJO’s or Miku’s merchandise at the event.

By the end of December of last year, it was also announced that Moi-même-Moitié, the gothic lolita brand founded and produced by Mana (the guitarist of Malice Mizer and presently leader of Moi dix Mois) will be jumping on board for the collaboration. Moi-même-Moitié would produce and sell the real-life version of the dress that Miku is depicted to be wearing, along with a matching headdress.

Both items are now up for preorder at the Hatsune Miku Vampire Festival event, and the online preorder at Moi-même-Moitié will start on February 1. The set will cost you 71,280 yen (or 62,640+10,800 separately) and the finished dresses are expected to be shipped in July 2018.

The dress can be found on display at the Vampire Festival, alongside a Miku doll wearing her own miniature version of it.

KAMIJO has already taken a picture with the dress!

You will be able to find more information on the official website of the event. There you may also find pictures of all the cute merchandise that can be bought at the event, featuring Miku, KAMIJO, and other Vocaloids in their gothic outfits drawn by PEACH-PIT.
