Matenrou Opera offer a good variety of songs on their album "PANTHEON -PART2-"

The wait for Matenrou Opera’s (摩天楼オペラ) new album, PANTHEON -PART 2-, will soon be over! As it’s coming out tomorrow on November 15! It will come in two editions: Limited and Regular. The former includes a DVD featuring the music video for the title track and a digest of their fan club exclusive live, PANTHEON TOUR -the first movement- FINAL SENDAI (仙台) CLUB JUNK BOX. Both editions include the same 10-track CD featuring their live-limited single, WARRIOR.

Previews were released a few weeks ago, and judging from the sounds of it, fans will be getting a decent mix of songs. Meaning no track sounds alike on this particular CD. This album is the follow-up to PANTHEON -PART 1-, which was released earlier this year. It’s clear that the band is continuing to move further from their classic sound and trading it for the same heavy metal theme as they did in PART 1. But in turn, the melodic and symphonic spectrum of Matenrou Opera seems to have slightly suffered due to this trade. But that’s not to say it isn’t present at all (it’s just different). We’ll still see each musician take their turn in the spotlight. Longtime fans who are used to and loved their previous works such as Justice and Kassai to Gekijo no Gloria will notice the unfamiliarity of this new album, but for those of you who are embracing their new sound will feel right at home!

JaY, once again, will be shredding away as the support guitarist, and a special guest, vocalist KAMIJO, makes an appearance as he sings during the chorus of Hadou no Hiyo (覇道の火よ) (track six). Give the album samples a listen and tell us what you think!

The album digest isn’t the only preview the band shared. They also gave us a peek at the music video. And, although we don’t like to, we must admit that the cinematography feels uninspired, and the band’s performance does little to distract us from it (which is a shame because they are dressed very cool for this release).
