This August 21 marked the 11th anniversary since the debut of the most popular all-girl rock band from Japan, SCANDAL and also the 26th birthday of Rina, the band’s lovely drummer. The girls just celebrated the event with a two-part concert at Billboard Live OSAKA at which they surprisingly performed a new song titled Koisuru Universe (恋するユニバース). Said song was later announced as the title-track of the band’s first ever digital single!
In addition to the title-track, the single will include another new song as well as several live songs performed at their 11th-anniversary concert. The release date has been set on October 22.
In other news, SCANDAL was chosen as the first Japanese band to feature in the popular VH1 series Storytellers, where artists perform while sharing stories and experiences about their music. SCANDAL’s episode will be aired on MTV Japan on October 21, featuring their 11th anniversary live.
It was also confirmed that the band will hold their annual Christmas special live at Akasaka Blitz on December 24.
