Often enough, we talk about bands losing a member of their group. But today we’re going to do the opposite and introduce a bassist who recently became an official member of HOLYCLOCK. We’re also going to cover the details of the band’s very first mini-album, Shinshou Aquarium-Shuuen no wa ni Zanryuusuru Sunadokei- (心象アクアリウム-自我境界と心象風景-)!
Maybe you’ve heard about the band’s former bassist Yui (結衣), who was forced to suspend activities for inappropriate behavior, and later officially withdrew in 2015, on September 30. We’re not going to gossip about that. But, his behavior is what opened the door for their new bassist, Yahiro (やひろ). Yahiro began as support for HOLYCLOCK earlier this year, on March 22. And as fate decided, he’d be a perfect fit and what the band had been missing since late 2015; on June 5, he officially joined the trio, restoring them to a four-piece band again. He’s not new to the scene, though. He’s spent time in other groups such as Mujina (ムジナ) and Mekakusi (メカクシ). Some of you have probably listened to those bands before and are familiar with his sound, which hasn’t changed.
You can hear his rich bass-lines on their first mini-album, Shinshou Aquarium-Shuuen no wa ni Zanryuusuru Sunadokei-! It’s coming out very, very soon: on June 22! It comes in one edition that includes a CD plus a DVD of the music video, Shambara (シャンバラ). It sounds beautiful, like good art should.
