You might be wondering why Smileberry has another two singles, Smiley and No More Cry, in their discography? Well, there’s an explanation. The band does not consider the one-coin single Smiley as their first single, but as their debut release.
As for the single No More Cry, the three songs are new versions of popular songs. The leading track is a cover of the first hit from the pop duo D-51, while the b-side Cutie Honey (キューティーハニ) was originally sung by Yoko Maekawa in 1973, featured as the ending theme for the Cutie Honey anime series. The latter, Hare Hare Yukai (ハレ晴レユカ) is a cover of the ending song from the anime Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu, interpreted by Aya Hirano, Minori Chihara and Yuko Goto, all three voices for the main characters of the series.
