We recently reported that LIPHLICH will be releasing a new album titled “Hebi de Are O wo Kurae” (蛇であれ 尾を喰らえ) which is due for February 10. They have just uploaded the full title track as a live session video on their YouTube, so check it out above.
The session is set in a mirrored studio with them in casual clothing, apart from bassist Wataru with hair back, shades on and huge fur shawl over his shoulders. Vocalist Shingo is playing an electronic acoustic guitar, and we do like how chilled out everyone looked in the recording.
Having given this track a listen, Takayuki’s guitar has a nice rhythm, reminiscent of Plastic Tree and the vocal has a catchy melody which plays nicely with the singing style of Shingo. We listen to a lot of visual bands, and we’re a little surprised by LIPHLICH; both by the unusual choice of studio styled recording (we assume there is also the music video coming up soon) and also how nice Hebi de Are O wo Kurae is sounding. We look forward to hearing more of these guys.
