back number - 「サイレン」Music Video (from 5th ALBUM「シャンデリア」)
This is the first time we’ve posted about back number. We found them via UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN YouTube channel. Take a look at the preview for Siren (サイレン), which is on their new fifth album titled Chandelier (シャンデリア), due to be out on December 9.
Taking a look at the number of views for Christmas Song music video, they had hit almost 12 million views in one month. This really was highlighting that we may have been missing out on something good. The sound of the band in Siren is reminiscent of another band we listened to called tsubakiya4 (椿屋四重奏), and we love it very much!
On top of this, it seems back number songs are being used for so many advertising campaigns and TV shows. Fuji Television drama will be using the Christmas Song in the theme song for From Five to Nine~ The Monk Who Fell in Love with Me (5→9 ～私に恋したお坊さん～). This show is a Japanese television drama series based on the manga series by Miki Aihara.
Other notable adverts include NTT DoCoMo CM song Letter, Otsuka Pocari Sweat Ion Water CM song SISTER, Sunstar Tonic shampoo campaign song Awa to hitsuji and also featured on the JR SKISK commercial.
Checking their official website, they managed to release an album this November and another one this month in December! What an amazingly hard-working band! We look forward to more news from back number and we can’t wait to hear the full track of Siren.
