On January 30, the band with a cult following “gulu gulu” announced it will cease activities following a final performance on March 17, 2023. You can apply for tickets for their final live performances beginning February 1, 2023. Winners will be decided by lottery.

A message to everyone from gulu gulu,
Thank you for all your supporting gulu gulu.
We are sharing our decision to halt gulu gulu’s activities upon the upcoming one-man concert “Heien”, to be held at Tokyo Cinema Club on Friday, March 17, 2023.
This surely comes as a sudden announcement to all our fans and staff who believed in us thus far, but we still plan to frantically blast through until our very last show, true to gulu gulu’s spirit. Even though we no longer have much time left together, we hope to hear all of you scream and cheer, just as usual.

gulu gulu formed in 2019, signing to the well-known label sun-krad. Members came from backgrounds in similar underground rock acts such as Memento Mori (メメント・モリ), Grieva (グリーヴァ), and Kuroyuri to Kage (黒百合と影). Within four years, gulu gulu released three singles, one mini-album, and enchanted a new generation of visual kei fans. They were known for their strong underground sound and striking visuals, which incorporated Japanese “ero guro” artwork.
We’re very sad to see gulu gulu go, but we hope the members continue on to future projects.
