Back in May, we reported about the symphonic metal band LIV MOON picking up activity again and promising an album sometime this year. Now, with the latest announcement, it seems like the seeds sowed back then will very soon bear fruit, one that will be known as OUR STORIES. Marking the first full-length album in six years!

The album OUR STORIES, which was delayed due to the pandemic, is set to release on December 21 and consists of nine songs which vocalist Akane Liv provided all the lyrics for.

Interestingly, for the first time since the band’s debut, every member have contributed in the composition department—with an added addition of veteran musician Nishiwaki Tatsuya‘s contribution.

On top of that, other reputable musicians are taking part as well in various ways, such as bassist MASAKI and guitarist KENTARO (from DAIDA LAIDA), composer KAZSIN (responsible for previous hit songs like “Kiss me, Kill me”), composer and drummer Harasawa Hideki, violinist Hoshino Saori (from soLi), and guitarist ISAO (from soLi, and BABYMETAL).

On the album, you will find the last track The lament being a cover song of the instrumental work by soLi. However, in this context, it adds the inclusion of Akane Liv’s vocals and lyrics.

Released under Walküre Records, OUR STORIES will be available in two editions, regular edition and deluxe edition. The deluxe edition will come with extra video content which include an interview with all band members, music video El Dorado, and behind-the-stage footage for the aforementioned music video.

Akane Liv was born in Gothenburg, Sweden.

After leaving the all-female musical theatre troupe “Takarazuka girls”, she began studying singing in England.

At the Beckenham Festival in London, she won the Singer of the Year award.

When returning back to Japan, she formed the symphonic metal band LIV MOON while also releasing music under her own name, Akane Liv.
