One of the coolest Japanese Edo-inspired metal bands, Kaishin no Ichigeki (快進のICHIGEKI), was sealed away from the world when they decided to suspend activities back in 2015. However, with the upcoming planned concert on May 1, the band will once again reunite for a nostalgic show after seven years! Fans will be able to travel back in time and enjoy the band’s songs from their extensive 11-year career that stretched from 2004 to 2015. You can also expect it to be livestreamed via TwitCasting, although details on that aren’t available yet.
As to what prompted the sudden reunion is a simple but wholesome story. When the band members heard that bassist Jun had become the manager of the live music bar “Heart Beat”—the venue where the band will play—they wanted to send him congratulations. Because of that, the four of them all came back into contact for the first time in a very long time. And naturally, the members concluded that it would be nice to do a solo concert to commemorate the moment, and so it was decided!
Although the band will only reunite for this one concert, in the members’ personal comments that were shared in conjunction with the event, drummer Yuichi mentioned that this might not be the last time, so keep your hopes up!
