HYDE, the lead vocalist of world-famous bands L’Arc-en-Ciel and VAMPS announced he will hold a two-day live concert from Heian Shrine in Kyoto, and it will be available to stream worldwide.
The concert is titled “20th Orchestra Concert 2021 HYDE HEIANJINGU” and commemorates his 20th anniversary as a solo artist. This concert features a unique collaboration with an orchestra that will enable a sound that fuses traditional Japanese music with modern music.
The event will span two days, on July 31 and August 1. It will be broadcast worldwide and screened in movie theaters across Japan. Archive viewing will also be available, so fans can watch the concert from the comfort of their own time zones.

Recently HYDE has been most active with his solo career, releasing not one but two digital singles in 2021, including the ending theme for the vampire anime “MARS RED”. HYDE digitally released his latest song “NOSTALGIC” on June 25, just as he kicked off the Japan-wide “20th Orchestra Tour HYDE ROENTGEN 2021” summer tour.
Heian Shrine is over 100 years old and is listed as an important cultural property of Japan. It is rare for a modern concert to be held at a historic site like the shrine, but merging modern and classic culture in Kyoto has become a trend.
