NIGHTMARE released their single cry for the moon on March 3 and accompanied it with a black and white music video full of flashing intersecting lasers. These lasers are matched with the dreamy and trance-like synths give a sense of velocity.
This also wouldn’t be a song about the moon without a time-lapse of its different phases, a photography umbrella artfully mimicking the moon, and beautiful vistas of the sky. At times, the black and white visual breaks up to give a glimpse of blue hues encompassing their performance space.
What remains consistent throughout is guitarist Sakito’s beautifully ringing guitar in the intro which undoubtedly drives the entire composition. Yomi’s powerful vocals shine through too, highlighted by the use of an echoing effect in certain parts.
The band nailed the concept for cry for the moon from the all-black outfits, black and white visuals, the crystal clear tones, and beaming lasers.
