Ikimonogakari officially releases its 33rd single BAKU today, on January 24, featured as the opening theme song for TV Tokyo anime “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations“. Previously released digitally on January 18, the single is now available in physical CD format.
The trio Ikimonogakari is well-known as the band who created the opening songs for the predecessor anime “Naruto: Shippuden“, such as Hotaru no Hikari in 2009, but maybe more prominently, Blue Bird in 2008 that has become one of the signatures of the series.
Notably, for the single BAKU, the two aforementioned songs are once again making their appearances, but this time as remastered coupling tracks. In addition, a remix of Blue Bird is added by the American DJ and producer Slushii.

For the nostalgic fans, you will likely notice how familiar the artwork for BAKU is compared to the 13-year old Blue Bird artwork. Instead of the band members appearing on the image, they’re replaced by the main characters of “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations”.

Look forward to the upcoming album “WHO?” next month on March 31 which celebrates the band’s 15th anniversary since its major debut. You’ll find BAKU on the tracklist along with digital singles like Ikiru, and Kira Kira ni Hikaru.
