DaizyStripper’s new album INFINITY is finally finished after a three-year gap since their previous one, and this has brought them back to Vijuttoke!

Let’s go on a journey in search of, not correct, but new answers from these five people who solidly built their careers!

The original full album “INFINITY” comes after three long years since the previous album “HOME”. Would you say this long period was a great turning point for DaizyStripper?

Yuugiri: Definitely. After leaving the agency we were working with for such a long time, we became independent. We, the members, and staff started again from the beginning. Managing the band was definitely a learning experience and required a lot more effort than we originally thought. But this is exactly why we can be proud of delivering a genuine album without any sort of lies.

After such a long time, are there any changes regarding the way you consider DaizyStripper, the way you think about the band?

Nao: In order to surpass our past selves, we have begun turning anything that comes to us into a challenge, without thinking about why we shouldn’t do something. We changed in that way.

Would you tell us more about the meaning behind the name of the album, “INFINITY”?

Yuugiri: I feel an infinite potential in this band, endless possibilities. After we finished the previous album HOME, I already wanted to name our next work INFINITY because I can’t see any limit to the future of this band. The best of DaizyStripper is packed into this album.

In the title song “INFINITY”, we can feel not only DaizyStripper’s determination but also a message to the fans who always supported you.

Mayu: I think we were animated by a power so big it propelled us forward. As DaizyStripper, the light we want to spread is overflowing, so we would be very happy if people could receive it by listening to our music and become a part of our own strength.

The rhythm and tempo of DaizyStripper’s new songs are quite speedy, and we feel they have been created this way to allow you to become one with the audience during shows.

Rei: Our most recent songs are made in the coolest way possible so people can easily get into them! Assuring that we’ll become one with the audience.

You received the support of guitarist Ken of L’Arc~en~Ciel as a sound producer for the single “4GET ME NOT”, released in 2018. Based on this experience, would you tell us if you feel something different, a kind of progression regarding the musical arrangement of your upcoming works?

Kazami: I think it’s like that now, we always consider what we want to get across in the song—the “thing” we want to convey. We realized that whether it be arrangement or composition, everything has to be done for that sake.

Could you tell us an anecdote about the music video for “INFINITY”?

Nao: We invited fans to be part of it and performed the same way we do during regular shows with maximum enthusiasm, without pacing ourselves.

Your tour “DaizyStripper 2020 TOUR INFINITY CHALLENGER ~Don’t seek for correct answers, but rather new answers~” started the same day as the release of the album on March 1. What is your vision, or what are your goals for this tour?

Yuugiri: We want to challenge things we have never done before during shows. There are various challenges but I think people can enjoy them musically and visually. For this tour, we chose large venues with high ceilings—a step up from previous venues. I think a large stage is what suits DaizyStripper most because we are full of confidence after all.

On June 5, the last show “GRAND FINAL” will take place at Yokohama Kannai Hall Dai Hall. What kind of day are you expecting?

Yuugiri: In order to create the ultimate tour, the greatest smiles and cries are essential. I will make the stage a place for me to fill with laughter, but also a place to shed a few drops of tears. “Congratulations on your 13 years of activity, you did great DaizyStripper”.

Nao: I will show you what real happiness is.

Mayu: This outstanding album embodies my pride regarding our 13 years together, so I will put all my strength into this final show! So much so, that in the future, people will say that DaizyStripper were god-like during their 13th year.

Rei: I will put every drop of energy I have into it. I will make people say “This is the first time I see DaizyStripper like this!” on that day.

Kazami: This is the day where the fruit of our labor will be clearly manifested. Please expect to meet completely different people from who we were before this tour.

Doing shows in small stand-only venues compared to large seated ones are quite different experiences, but in each one of them, what things would you consider important?

Yuugiri: The venue doesn’t matter to us so much, because we always give our all. The most important thing is how passionate our performance is. For this tour, we will make it overflow from the beginning to the end. That’s all. Be ready for it.

Nao: As long as all five of us and our fans stand together, that is all I need.

Mayu: I think about what kind of feelings I’m aiming to put into the songs, and try to touch the audiences’ hearts in such a way that they don’t experience that sense of loss afterward.

Rei: The place doesn’t matter, I always keep going at full force.

Kazami: Being natural. And smiling.

Thank you very much. Finally, would you tell us what the album “INFINITY” means to each of you?

Yuugiri: This is an important part of me which will keep singing forever. From ballads to more aggressive songs, this diverse DaizyStripper-esque album will fill people with courage.

Nao: Enlightenment.

Mayu: An album that will illuminate the path of DaizyStripper’s upcoming 10 years.

Rei: It’s a masterpiece that harbors new potential!

Kazami: All the things which happened over the last 13 years are gathered here in this sincere piece of work, in the best way possible. It took time, but when I listen to it again I am convinced that this is the best shape it could take. A person’s strongest weapon is their “individuality”, and this album is full of that human characteristic. Without a doubt.
