UVERworld will release single AS ONE on March 4 with the title-track featuring as the main theme for the movie adaptation of Kamen Byoto, hitting cinemas on March 6.
Vocalist TAKUYA had a bit to say about Kamen Byoto and the theme song AS ONE:
Kamen Byoto isn’t the kind of novel you can understand by only reading the beginning and the end: the characters are continuously evolving in their own ways, going through various emotions and feelings.
However, it is the kind of novel you can enjoy the relationship between good and evil, we were then very excited and happy to accompany the movie adaptation of the book with our songs! Thank you very much!
As for the song production, this is directly following album UNSER and its also the exploration of a new dimension of ourselves. From reading the novel, we combined and expressed the sound and speed depicted in the world with our own style.
We made a song that, even after leaving the world of the movie, people listening to it will be filled with energy and vigor throughout their bodies, in their daily lives. Please look forward to the movie, but also this new tune.

According to IMDb, the plot follows:
Shugo Hayami is a doctor at a nursing hospital, which was once a psychiatric hospital. One evening, when Shugo is on night duty, a man in pierrot mask breaks into the hospital and he is not alone. He is with Hitomi Kawasaki, a university student who has been shot by the masked man. The masked man tells Shugo to treat Hitomi. He also takes hostage the 64 people in the hospital. Soon, Shugo and Hitomi try to escape from the hospital and they encounter mysterious cases one at a time.
Played alongside the trailer full of violent acts carried out by masked figures, I feel the song is a bit too lively and doesn’t keep to the tension shown in the scenes, but I do feel TAKUYA’s explanation helps explain that. What about you? How do you feel about the new song?
The regular edition of AS ONE contains the title track coupled with instrumental track Spreadown and instrumental for AS ONE.
Meanwhile, the limited edition adds a DVD with footage from their Tokyo Dome performances on December 19 and 20, 2019, and their Yokohama Arena performance on December 21, 2019. There will also be a documentary titled DRAW RUN FOR PROOF covering the days running up to their Tokyo Dome performances, totaling up to more than 20 minutes.
