ELFENSJóN will be releasing their second work ASH OF ROUGE on August 12 after previously introducing the impressive EP EINHERJAR last year. The new release is an EP referred to as the circle’s “2nd story” and includes two discs, “SIDE ELISIA”, and “SIDE ASTRAL”, making it a total of nine new tracks. The key difference here is that the former disc features a female vocalist okogeeechann while the latter, a male vocalist Kazuya Fujita.
Composer Kurose Keisuke gave this comment on Twitter:
I feel I was able to create a new piece of work superior to the previous one in terms of lyrical sound, illustration, and the number of tracks!
ASH OF ROUGE will make its public appearance on the fourth day at Japan’s biggest doujin convention, Comiket 96, on August 12 at booth ‘南”コ”30b’. There is so far no information whether it will be released digitally at a later point, but with the previous EP EINHERJAR, we did see it make its way to Bandcamp and Pixiv’s digital Booth.
ELFENSJóN is a doujin circle (self-published group) led by Kurose Keisuke, the former UROBOROS, and Asriel composer. We also find familiar names within the doujin community appear in the credits, such as Myu (みゅー) on guitar, YUU on violin, illustrator Ishizue Kachiru (石据カチル), and more.
The circle’s name “ELFENSJóN” is inspired by the German language and comprises of “ELF” (Eleven) and “SJóN” (Vision), describing it as:
Depicting a realistic world at the end of time, both beautiful and cruel. The creation of a work, bringing a new vision.
In other words, ELFENSJóN offers a symphonic fantasy direction in terms of its thematic sound, at the same time, jumping between rock, metal, and even djent. If you’ve listened to UROBOROS or Asriel before, you will feel right at home as ELFENSJóN offers the same type of mysterious and storytelling-like music.
Don’t forget to checkout the previous EP EINHERJAR too, especially the djenty Hexenjagd!
