In an interview with the Mexican website Nacion Grita, vocalist Ruki confirmed that the GazettE will begin work on their next album following the tour final later this year. We translated a snippet of the interview from Spanish to English, in the interview Ruki states:
Whats next for the Gazette? What are your plans for the future?
Ruki: Well, first we have to finish our current tour [laughs]. Our last month we’ll be in Tokyo doing the tour final and then we’ll begin working on the new album.
While we don’t know how Ruki phrased this in Japanese, the Spanish transcription refers the upcoming release as “the” new album rather than “a” new album. Ruki, joined by bassist Reita, also discusses their previous experiences in Mexico, touring, their trajectory as a band, and more! Head to Nacion Grita to read the full interview (in Spanish).
For now, however, the band plans to keep its focus on the current World Tour THE NINTH Phase #04 -99.999-. Tickets are still available for the remaining performances—scheduled across South America, Europe, and Asia.
As for the tour final show that Ruki mentioned, LIVE TOUR18-19 THE NINTH Tour Final “Daiku”, it will be held on September 23, 2019, at the 17,000-seat Yokohama Arena. General release tickets go on sale on August 24, 2019.
If you attended any of the shows so far, what were your favorite moments? Will you be attending the world tour or the tour final? Let us know in the comment section!
