With a strong nod towards the moodier side of visual kei in style and playing on a much-loved blend of electronic and metal sounds, GAZTREA from Germany is a band with potential in a space many are leaving. Their latest music video Feather & Void, came out on April 9, 2019, and cooks up a batch of solid screams, rich and heavy instruments and whets the appetite for those with a taste for a meaty bass. This track is a sound piece of work by skilled musicians. Have a listen to it yourself:

GAZTREA - Feather & Void (Official Music Video)

GAZTREA is formed of four members and founded in 2017 by the two guitarists Sai and Momo who initially aspired to capture the experimental and extravagant approach of Japanese Visual Kei bands in music and style. Over time, various influences of all the band members have long since then shaped GAZTREA to become who they are today.

When Kal—who was previously known as a YouTube singer—joined the band in 2018, GAZTREA found the last missing piece to truly get started. Shortly after, the trio released their first music video Destiny together with the three-track EP Decisions. A few months later the band released their first single titled Another Ending. After a few live shows with support bassists, Cozmo took on the bassist role and joined as a full-time member. With new energy and ideas, the quartet released their new single Cloud Symmetry, adding increasingly heavy elements to the band’s sound. After concluding the year with a concert together with VII Arc and Bonafide Heroes, GAZTREA started with new material and big plans into 2019.

Kicking off their release schedule this year with a music video for Feather & Void, which presents itself as the heaviest song the band has written so far. This track will be part of their upcoming EP Incantation which will be released in May, the exact date is yet to be confirmed. Following this release, they have one show scheduled in Hamburg, Germany on June 1.
